3 Popular Types of Emo Hoodies and Where to Get Them

One of the most popular staples of emo fashion is emo hoodies. Many emos wear emo hoodies all year long, whether it be winter or summer. It’s the item of clothing on your body that most people will notice first, and thusly it’s pretty important to your overall fashion statement.

There are many different kinds of emo hoodies, and I’ll go over a few below. Some emos opt to wear plain colored hoodies, but it’s much more common to see the types of emo hoodies listed below.

Striped Emo Hoodies

Stripes have played a pretty big part in emo fashion, especially for guys. Dark colored stripped emo hoodies emerged as a popular style in the emo fashion circle shortly after emos started making a transition from pure black clothing to a more diverse fashion sense. Some popular strip color combinations are black and gray and black and purple.

Random Design Emo Hoodies

Today’s trends in emo and scene fashion favor a more colorful nature. Many of these types of emo hoodies have random repetitive objects in multiple colors set against a black background. For girls, it’s typically the opposite, with repetitive objects set against a white background. The repetitive object on the hoodie can be anything from a diamond, to a cupcake, to paint splashes. There are literally dozens of different combinations out there.

Cat Ear Emo Hoodies

Mostly popular with females is the cat ear hoodie. While the cat ear hoodie was the first type of animal ear hoodie, originally produced by Emily the Strange, there have been many offshoots since then. You can now get cat ear hoodies in all different colors and varieties, from wide ears to point ears, black to white. You can also find emo hoodies with ears for other animals, like bears. The variation of this for emo guys is emo hoodies with skulls or other images depicted on the hood itself.

If you’re looking for a plain hoodie, you can pick one up just about anywhere for about $15. However, if you’re looking for one of the types of emo hoodies listed above you’re going to have to do a bit more shopping. For cat ear emo hoodies, I typically look on Ebay, as they have a bigger selection than any store that I’ve ever seen, and it’s much easier to do a search for those type of emo hoodies than the other two on the list. For everything else, I recommend Hot Topic. I can almost guarantee you won’t find a bigger selection of emo hoodies anywhere else.
